My name is Ami and I own Simply Needlecraft Haberdashery.

I won’t lie, I can’t say I’ve been crafting from a young age or that my Mum used to sit and teach me knitting. In fact I’ve only been crafting for just over 2 years….still got a huge amount to learn.

I fell into crafts and sewing by chance really.

I was seriously poorly 5 yrs ago and I have now been diagnosed with a condition that I will always have. I decided that having a hobby would relax me and give me an extra boost to try something new, so my Mum suggested that we take a course at the local adult learning centre. We called in for a brochure and sat in Costa Coffee browsing the list of courses available.

We opted for the Sewing and Embroidery course…..and I haven’t looked back since. My love is to quilt but I also have a love for embroidery both by machine and by hand.

We both took to it straight away and it was then I decided to set up Simply Needlecraft. The company started off online in August 2013 and then I decided to try having a stall on the local market my sidekick (Dad). I loved the market and the market traders were great and very supportive, but my stock was growing fast and to take everything was impossible. So I had to make the decision of cutting back or to change direction.

Then in February 2014 I spotted an empty shop and fell in love with it and that’s when Simply Needlecraft found its home. It’s going better than I could have hoped.

I would like to say a huge great big thank you to my Husband, parents and friends who have backed me all the way and supported me in so many ways; I really couldn’t have done any of this without you. I would also like to thank Sue, Knitting and Crochet teacher for being such a fabulous teacher and sharing her skills.

Thank you to you as well, thanks for supporting small independent business, thanks to all your kind words, thank you for showing your makes and being so creative.

Please feel free to contact me.
