Hi Everyone,
Its time to post again. The weeks are flying by aren’t they. Its hard to believe that December is nearly upon us.
Last week I joined our Sue’s in a Crochet workshop open day. I have tried to Crochet so many times but never succeeded. I could quite happily sew and quilt all day long however its impossible to keep carting my sewing machine home every night so it was time to try something new, something I could sit by the fire and watch the soaps at the same time.
So this time I was determined to learn how to Crochet and after a few false starts I manage my first granny square. I know its not much however I’m very proud of myself 🙂 I aim to make a small blanket…..fingers crossed.
But the main event this week was definatley Swadlincote’s Christmas lights switch on.
We have lots of events throughout the year outside our shop. We are in the perfect spot to enjoy all of them, however the light switch on is most definalty my favourite by far.
In the daytime there were choirs form all the local schools in the area, we had a bit a Salsa lesson and in the evening live bands played….
Along with the fairground rides and food, craft stalls.
We were in prime position for the firework display ……
Then it was time for the switch on ……
Late night opening meant we met even more new customers, so it was a pretty amazing day.
Thank you to everyone that has visited us online and in store, your support is absolutely amazing 🙂
Next week…..we have a huge wool order arriving and some more Christmas fabrics.
Keep warm and I’ll see you again on Monday.
