It’s a year ago today that Simply Needlecraft joined the local market in Swadlincote. I really can’t believe how it’s grown so much since then.
I was so nervous the night before our first day, I hardly slept.
I must say we loved the market and I didn’t mind the early starts in the dark and cold, but blimey the wind and the rain weren’t pleasant to say the least. Theres nothing like running after your gazebo in the winds and trying to stop fabric getting wet in the rain.
I made some great friends and met the most adorable pooch (Sid the market dog). It’s quite serial being in the middle of town at 6am with nobody around except the market traders and all their banter.
After 5 months of loading, unloading, setting up, packing away, loading and unloading…..and completely filling my garage of stock on days off, I had to make a choice. Our transit van was a good size but we just couldn’t fit anything else in it. It was either buy a huge van or go for bricks and mortar. Luckily I went with the second option.
This year I’m looking forward to having a Christmas window display, the heater on, maybe some Christmas music and not having to dress like a Eskimo with hat hair 🙂
I would like to thank everyone that has made this possible, all my internet and instore customers that have supported us this last 12 months, all my family and friends that gave me the kick up the bum I needed, everyone that has helped spread the word and most of all, my hubby who has put it with me running around like a headless chicken for pretty much the majority of the year.
Thank you xxxxx
